Illustration Design Process
We listed out a flowchart that briefly illustrates how we came up with ideas to make the game progress smoothly.
Spawnpoint - Master Bedroom
Look around the dimly lit, messy bedroom (spot a journal that is shining)
The journal can be interacted with, and once opened, is empty pages but clearly not new.
Upon closing the journal, thin arrows point the user to a hallway that has 3 different rooms on each side
Explore the Throne Room, Garden, Master bedroom, and Ballroom in any order
Complete all the minigames in each of the rooms
Upon completion, words elegantly fly out into the air and float into the master bedroom
Re-enter the master bedroom
Complete final mini-game
After completing, the words enter the journal and it is now completed with 4 journal entries (1 from each completed mini-game)
Read through the memories captured from your experiences (a journal entry about a core memory in life related to each room’s setting)
Tuck yourself into bed
Slowly shuts eyes as the screen goes dark. A message indicates that the user is dead and the castle was all a dream–the brain’s final thoughts before shutting down
“Appreciate what you have before it’s too late”
